My Ramblings
October 05 Sunday stuff and new picsHey all do you like my colors? I love Fall so thought I better change my background. I got a new universal cord for my camera(dogs chewed other one) so I dumped my pics into an album. The pic of me is today! Alexis took it and did a good job I thought, it was actually of me and not my boots and my hair was washed. See how dark my hair is? That's new, well not new but every year my hair usually blonds up, this year it turned dark. Odd I know! So I'm trying to get use to the dark look. Someone at the store asked me what hair dye I use ! Pffft.. I don't ever, if I did you would be looking at a bald head, my hair is too fine and won't dye.
I have my home pics in the album cuz I wanted prospective landlords in Idaho to see my house is clean (it was that day anyway lol) Most of the stuff I own is from auctions and garage sales or made. The only thing that is new in those pics is the big chair the kids are sitting in and the washer dryer. I'm a 2nd hand girl. haha
OUr auction place is the best. They sometimes do get new furniture from the big stores, Sears etc... So it's overstock I guess. The red cabinet which I love I got for $30 at the acution. How cool is that?
Anyway.. enough about material stuff, I got some more popcorn balls, took the kids to get their halloween costumes, Colton is a red power ranger..again.. and Alexis is some kind of bat girl, the costume is odd but she wanted it, then we had McDonald's. Yuck. I couldn't even eat it all it made me sick. Gary's still hunting so no pics of the trailer yet. Now I have my cord I can put NEW pics in! How cool.
Well I guess that's it. Have a good Sunday everyone.
October 04 Threatening business owner?I recently purchased what I thought was a birthday newspaper for a friend's birthday and had emailed the company requesting they send it directly to her home address in Alaska. The owner named "Tim" wrote back and said I didn't buy a paper, I bought a PDF file that I could download and print on my own computer. So I went back to the site and it said that under all the info about the '"mini newspater" they were advertising but it also said the file would be sent to my email address listed on my pay pal account. In the email he sent there was no file. I sent an email asking "what the heck did I pay for?" because I paid and still hadn't received anything for it. He emails me this NASTY email about how he didn't have time to explain his product to people who couldn't read! What????
So I emailed him back and thanked him for taking the high road and called him a jerk. I also told him I would put this on my site so everyone would know not to deal with him or his business so today he sends me an email showing he has researched all my info on the internet and showed an old MYspace blog I had. Is this a psycho or what? How can someone run a business like that? So here is his business web address, pass it on to as many people as you like or not, but know he's a scary deranged man and should be avoided! WEIRD! www.birthday-newspaper.com
October 03 Old trailers are cool Hubby found a old little camping trailer for hunting. It's a 68' I think, 13 ft, perfect for what he does. I got a new rug and runner for it and loaded it with utensils etc.. I'm really surprised how many people it holds. A bed up top folds down and can hold one or two kids, a full bed below that and then of course the table bed. So it will sleep 5. I like the old trailer. It reminds me of my youth. LOL I would have been 12 when that trailer was made. It is cozy and sweet. He's going to take it for the opening deer season which starts tomorrow and break it in. I plan on us taking it to the coast and camp too. It's small enough you can park it anywhere. We found it for $600! Cool huh? I'm really excited to have it. I know there's great big cool campers and 5th wheels and motorhomes to die for out there but I just love our little old camper and it's paid for! The people who owned it recovered the seats in some kind of plaid and hung purple curtains haha. He'll have the prettiest windows in the woods. I'll get some material and re-do the windows eventually and I want to paint the cupboards. It's like having a little doll house to fix up. So that's our most exciting thing going on right now.
I'm seeing the market try to regain and I'm praying it does for all my friends who are already struggling and all those who want to retire and are watching their retirement be at risk. It's tragic and saddens me that what some greedy politicians, CEO's and already too rich people do effect the people I love. My hubby and I about 5 years ago decided to not use credit for anything anymore (well house, and one vehicle anyway we still do). We use to save for everything we want. It takes a LOT longer but when you get something it's paid for. It frees you to not have to pay for things on time. I talked my sons in to trying to do that too . Credit cards are evil. I told them they could pay for the CEO's children of the credit companies, to get what they want or they could do without the cards and keep their money for themselves. It works for us. If we have to secure something with a credit card we use our debit card that has a Visa back on it but the money comes out of our checking account. It's time we all control our own money, don't give it to the already rich, don't pay their fees and rates, start a savings account once the cards are paid off and save for what you want. And if it costs too much... you can't afford it or you save for a very long time to get it.
It's the way of our grandparents, you can bet they never had the stess families do now trying to keep up with what they own. I hope and pray all of you are not affected by this financial mess. But it is a good time to prioritize and restructure and I hope even with baby steps you're able to do it.
Luch time.. take care all. October 01 Anniversary day! This was a really nice anniversary. Gary and I went to town and first hit the grocery outlet cuz I had to pick up some stuff for my brother. ( He had surgery on his arm) ANYWAY... there was lots of cool stuff at the outlet. I love that place. So bought some cool stuff, went back to Safeway to pick up another thing for my brother cuz he's OCD and has a specific brand of stuff he insists on getting or the sky will fall, I know that's not it but the reason why he had to get that brand went on too long and I was watching tv and not listening, so I assume it's cuz the sky will fall if he doesn't have that brand.(C & H Sugar)
We took the stuff to my him (I do love him but he's the younger brother so who else am I going to make fun of?)
Then we hit the bank, stopped for a starbucks pumpkin spiced coffee, looked at camp trailers then came home for the kids. We couldn't find a sitter (Of course we couldn't). So I opened all my cool stuff, solar yard sidewalk lights, candles, oil diffuser.. you know cool stuff and then we all went to Applebees for dinner. I had the best steak EVER. IT's called the Bourbon Street Steak. SOOOO yummy. I know I was making sounds that I could have been arrested for , but I'm old so people just think I'm having digestion problems. It had cajun spices on it. SOOO good. I also had grilled shrimp and a GREAT margarita. Oh... earlier went to PETCO, love it, and also to a pet shop just to look and OOOHHHH they had a tiny itty bitty chihauha how in the H do you spell that? She was so sweet, but as you know we already have two dogs but I was still trying to talk Gary in to it, cuz she's not even the size of a dog. It would still be like having 2 dogs and a gerbil. I wouldn't even say we had 3 dogs, she was that tiny. So cute oh my gosh. I decided to name her Chi CHi, even though I didn't get her. I just keep bringing her up to Gary, maybe I'll break him. haha (Although if I felt great about 3 dogs I would have her right now no matter what he said cuz that's how I got the other 2, he had no say)
So that's my take on a great day. Kinda slow ,shopping, and eating and petting puppies and drinking.. what a great day! Hope yours was just as good if not better! September 29 Goin's onSick season has begun at our house, pretty expected as the kids started school and brought home whatever from the other kids. It's mild though, so far, headache, sore throat, ear ache, sinus stuff probably. I took some sinus stuff today, threw my heating thing in the microwave (It's filled with flax seed, I don't know) and them put eucylptus oil on it and cradled it on my ear and back of my neck and it just knocked me out. I love the smell of vicks and eucylyptus. I have to order more oil I love it so much. It has antibacterial properties so good for you to breathe in. I order it from www.goldcoastsoap.com. They have the absolute best oils ever. I use them in my soaps, drop them on my silk flowers, or just drop the oil here and there. My house always smells good (even when it sometimes shouldn't haha)
THe cranberry oil is GREAT. Better than the candles you burn. Also my vacume cleaner uses water so I put a drop or two of whatever smell I want that day so when I vacume it smells good. Anyway.... I have to go up to eugene tomorrow about an hour and a half away to take my brother to get surgery on his arm. He's not married so I was voted to go. I don't mind. I made him some homemade stew and zuchini bread to eat when he comes home from the surgery. He's the typical batchelor eating whatever whenever.
My anniversary is coming up on the first. I had for a while stopped celebrating it about 3 years ago but this year decided to do it. I plan on dragging him over to the coast to spend the night. We've been together for 33 years but this anniversary is actually officially our 28th. We deserve to have some time off and spend some time without kids and dogs. My plan is to stay at the casino, but we'll see. I have to hit Bandon where the candy shop is. Yum.
Well speaking of hubby, he's cleaning the kitchen so now I have to cook dinner and mess it up again.
Take care all.
